When trying to activate a 4Team product license, activation errors may appear informing you of an activation failure and providing a basic reason as to why it was unsuccessful.
Limit of activations is exceeded!
When trying to activate a 4Team application, a Limit of activations is exceeded! error may appear.
Here are the following reasons for this error message appearing:
A license upgrade was purchased without purchasing the actual license.
In some cases, new users may purchase a license upgrade for a particular 4Team application without purchasing an actual license first. During the activation process, the 4Team Activation Server cannot find the actual license, and this error message appears.
Make sure to always purchase a regular license first before purchasing a license upgrade for it. If you purchased a license upgrade instead of a regular license, please contact our Customer Service for more assistance. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
Trying to activate the license on a new computer without first deactivating it on the old computer.
A single license is meant to be used on a single Windows computer/Windows User. Trying to activate the same license on another computer when it's already being used will not work, and this error message will appear.
Always deactivate your license from your old computer before re-activating it on your new computer. Ensure that your license is still valid to be able to successfully re-activate it on the new computer. If the old computer is no longer accessible, you can request the license to be deactivated via 4Team Members Area or contact our Customer Service department for assistance. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
Trying to activate a single license on multiple computers.
A single license is meant to be used on a single Windows computer/Windows User. Trying to activate the same license on another computer when it's already being used will not work, and this error message will appear.
If you want to use the application on multiple computers, you will need to purchase licenses for each machine you want to use the application on. You can purchase additional licenses directly from the application's website. Follow this 4Team Products buying guide to learn more.
Trying to activate a license upgrade on a new computer when the old license is still being used in the 4Team Activation Server.
When the application has not used for a while but the license is renewed and re-activated, an error message may appear because the old license is still registered as "in use" in the 4Team Activation Server.
Visit the 4Team Members Area to find out which old license is still in use and request its deactivation or contact our Customer Service department for further assistance. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
Using advanced uninstaller tools or registry cleaners.
Uninstaller tools like Revo Uninstaller or registry cleaner tools like CCleaner, can affect the activation status of 4Team software. This is due to registry keys in Windows' Registry (where 4Team application activations are kept) being removed. This causes the 4Team application to lose its activated status in your computer and will require it to be re-activated.
However, when trying to re-activate it, an error message may appear as the license is shown as already activated in the 4Team Activation Server.
For removing the software from your computer, we highly recommend using the regular Windows Uninstaller service via Apps and Features. If your activation status has been affected by 3rd-party tools, please contact our Customer Service department for further assistance. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
Incorrect activation code!
When trying to activate a 4Team application, an Incorrect activation code! error may appear.
Here are the following reasons for this error message appearing:
The activation code was typed incorrectly.
More often than not, the activation code was misspelled, or spaces were left before or after the code which leads to this error message.
Type in the code slowly, copy/paste the activation key instead of typing it in if you prefer, and do not leave spaces before or after the code.
The wrong application is used.
If an activation code is being used on the wrong application, naturally this error message will appear. For example, if you are trying to use a Sync2 license to activate Sync2 Cloud or vice versa. If you are trying to activate Duplicate Remover with a Duplicate Killer license.
Make sure to always check if you have downloaded and installed the correct application for the appropriate license purchased.
This update is payable!
When trying to activate a 4Team application, This update is payable! error may appear.
Here are the following reasons for this error message appearing:
The application license has expired.
A regular 4Team application license lasts 1 year for free program updates and technical support. You can still use the application past its expiration date without upgrading or reinstalling. If attempting to upgrade or reinstall, this error message will appear and you need to renew the license to continue using the application.
You can purchase the license upgrade directly from the application's website. Follow the 4Team Products buying guide to learn more or contact our Customer Service for further assistance. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
The wrong activation key was used.
Over the course of application usage and multiple license upgrades, it can sometimes get a little confusing about which license to apply.
Make sure to always use the latest license you purchased. You can always check which licenses are valid in 4Team Members Area.
Product activation not found on the server
When trying to deactivate a 4Team application, a Product activation not found on the server error may appear.
This error can appear due to conflicts in the Windows Registry when the 4Team Activation Server is no longer reachable due to ID corruption in the registry keys. Please contact Customer Service for assistance to resolve this error. Contact information is listed at the end of the article.
