Microsoft Outlook mail profile contains all the settings and files to support the email accounts you add in Outlook. A single mail profile can contain multiple email accounts and different account types.
Sometimes multiple Outlook profiles are in use to separate different Outlook setups like Work and Private, or there sometimes is a need to re-create the current Outlook mail profile when it becomes damaged.
How to set up a new Outlook mail profile?
Step 1. Click the Windows Start button and start typing Control Panel. Then click the Control Panel option.
Step 2. In the Control Panel window, type in Mail in the search box and then click on Mail applet.
Step 3. In the mail applet click the Show Profiles... button.
Step 4. In the General settings window click the Add... button.
Step 5. Input the name of the new profile and click the OK button.
Step 6. Add Account window will appear. Set up your email account.
Step 7. Once set up is done, you will see your new Outlook mail profile in the list, you can set your new profile as the default one if you are replacing the old profile with a new one.
Tips:
- Make sure you make backups of any data you might have left behind in the old profile before re-creating it.
