When trying to sign in to Google from within an application, sometimes access can be blocked by Google. This can happen if Google ththe application does not meet certain security standards. By allowing access for less secure apps in your Google settings, it can be easier to link certain applications with Google.
How to enable less secure apps?
Step 1. Open your browser, visit the www.gmail.com webpage, and log in to your Google account.
Step 2. In the main Gmail page, click on the circle icon located in the top right corner of the page, then click on the Manage your Google Account option.
Step 3. On the Google Account Management page, click the Security option.
Step 4. Locate the Less secure app access section and click on Turn on access (not recommended).
Step 5. Turn on the option by clicking on the slider button.
Why is it not recommended to turn on less secure apps?
Less secure apps can make it easier for hackers to get into your account, so blocking sign-ins from these apps helps keep your account safe. Instead of using this option, Google recommends using more secure apps, 2-step verification, and app-specific password options.
