October 1st, 2022 is a critical day for users who use Basic Authentication in Exchange. Microsoft Exchange will start randomly selecting tenants and disable Basic Authentication access. Eventually, Basic Authentication will be disabled for every user.
Having Exchange that uses Basic Authentication as a source in SyncGene may result in an error: Issues connecting to server of this source. Synchronization will fail.
Solution: re-add your Exchange server as a Microsoft 365 source in SyncGene
Step 1. Remove your Exchange from SyncGene sources. Open Sources list in SyncGene, highlight your Exchange server by clicking on it and then choose Remove.
Step 2. Re-add your Exchange back as a Microsoft 365 source. Open Add Source page in SyncGene and select Microsoft 365 option.
Step 3. Enter your login credentials and click Next. Once prompted enter your password and click Sign In.
This is it. Your re-added Exchange account should continue synchronizing without any errors from now on.
